Once assembled, this bed is fine. Just like any other metal bunkbed. The desk is really cool. It is sturdy. The instructions, however, were completely unclear. I had to take some things apart to go back and assemble items that were not included in the instructions. The bed also came with parts that would have been included with a full-size even though I bought the twin. It took a lot longer than it should have to put together. Buyer beware
