its a very nice bed. Climbing up the ladder did hurt, i cut open a pool noodle foam and glued it on the ladder. i did have to cut half of the little gate that connects from the bed to the ladder, i didnt like the feeling of climbing over the gate bc it would grab my thigh like i was pushing myself down a slide in shorts. i also used the poles under the bed to hang my plants
