Im a 52 female and was able to assemble this by myself. It can be secured to the wall (those pieces are not all included) but is sturdy enough without. The ladder is a little uncomfortable on your feet but we covered them with pipe insulation using zip ties. Bed does creak a little but isnt super noisy. Overall my son loves it! We have 8 ft ceilings and there is plenty of room for him to sit up comfortably without hitting his head.
