We anchored it to the wall at the head end and added a 2x4 to the wall first. Now very sturdy - ONly complaint is the ladder - not easy to go over rail and a bit painful to the feet
Our 9 year old loves it! We also bought a futon to go underneath; which is great for sleepovers. She had her desk under it for a while too.
It went together nicely and shipped without a ton of packaging. The only adjustment we made was cutting some strips of pool noodle to pad the steps a bit.
Overall, a solid purchase.
I have purchased a few metal bunk beds, but this is the only with with a strong construction, clear instructions, and include more pieces that are necessary. Do NOT buy a cheaper metal bunk bed elsewhere.
Its a very sturdy bed no squeaks. Only disappointment is that two screws can in the wrong spot so we had to drill two new holes. Took some time to put together but was not hard.
It was very easy to put together and is extremely steady and stable (doesnt need to be secured to a wall). But its painful to get in and out of. It hurts my feet to go up and down the ladder every time and going over the edge is awkward. It would have been nice if there were a cutout section there. Im ordering pool noodles to pad the way.
This product was exactly what I wanted for my daughter small bedroom, everything was great except the piece labeled 6 was defective. It was cut too short, so she only has the ladder on one side. Would it be possible for another piece 6 to be shipped?
